China saw its output of natural gas increased 6% YoY to 8.5 billion cubic meters in August this year, said the National Development and Reform Commission in a statement published on its website.
In the first eight months, the country produced 70.7 billion cu m of natural gas, 5.9% more than in the same period of last year.
Last month, China's natural gas imports surged 21.4% YoY to 3.4 billion cu m, taking its total import in the first eight months to 26.7 billion cu m, 31.6% more than in the corresponding period of last year.
In the first eight months of this year, China saw its consumption of natural gas rose 12.5% YoY to 94.8 cu m, including 11.3 cu m from August, up 4.1% YoY.
