The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) raised the per ton price of gasoline by RMB 550 ($87) and diesel by RMB 540 ($85) effective Tuesday, the second consecutive monthly hike and the fourth increase of the year.
The average price of a basket of Brent, Cinta and Dubai crude had climbed close to 8.5 percent by the end of last Friday from Aug. 8, according to the official Xinhua news agency. China adjusts retail fuel prices if the basket moves four percent or more over 22 consecutive working days.
